Winter Sun, the acclaimed sophomore album by Icelandic singer-songwriter Snorri Helgason is set for release on October 26th 2012 in Germany, Austria & Switzerland thru Pop-Up Records. The album is produced by indie pop wunderkind Sindri Már Sigfússon (of Sin Fang and Seabear) and presents Snorri not only as a sincere songwriter but also as a musician willing to experiment with his soundscape. A few notable Icelandic musicians lend their talent on Winter Sun, Silla of múm & Mr.Silla sings backing vocals, Sóley plays piano and Guðmundur Óskar of Hjaltalín plays bass.
The Snorri Helgason band will tour Germany & Switzerland in December 2012. The band consist of experienced veterans of that touring circuit and a kind of who’s who of the Icelandic music scene; Guðmundur Óskar Guðmundsson on bass(Hjaltalín, Tilbury, Borko), Magnús Tryggvason Eiassen on drums(amiina, Tilbury, Sin Fang) and Sigurlaug Gísladóttir on vocals and ukulele(múm, Mr. Silla). The tour will kick of in Hamburg on December 3rd. and conclude in Bremen on the 16th.
