I like beginning a new year with making some changes. Radical ones if I can. So I decided to move back to Reykjavík. I had a lovely year in London but I felt like my time there was up. For now at least. I want to be here with my friends, my band and my family. So far it has been very good. I’ve got some new songs and new possibilities are opening up that look very promising. This will be good.

Mockingbird

I’m very happy to say that the new video for my song “Mockingbird” is ready. It was directed by my Italian friend, the very talented Elisa Vendramin. I am very very happy with it. It’s hazy weirdness matches the song perfectly, I think. It’s premiering exclusively on the KEXP website and you can see it here.

In other video related news, Máni Sigfússon’s video for “River” just got nominated for the Northern Wave film festival award for best video. Nice job Máni!

Polish dates

I am also equally excited to tell you that I am going to be playing in Europe quite a lot in the next few months.

First me, Silla and Gummi(these guys) are going to Oslo for the By:Larm festival on feb. 16-18. This is going to be good. Funnily enough I have never been to Oslo before and I hear this festival is really really nice.

Then I’m going on a two week solo tour of Poland in feb-march. I’m really looking forward to that. I’ve only been to Poland once before and I loved it and now I get to travel all over the country and play loads of shows so this is going to be great.

It’s been a while since my last newsletter. Been pretty busy touring and playing and stuff. Spent most of october in Iceland where I played at the Iceland Airwaves festival(11 shows in 4 days!) and went to Seattle to play the Reykjavík Calling event and did a session for KEXP which was absolutely wonderful. Met loads of wonderful people and heard great music and ate great food. What more can you ask for?

I came back here to London in early november and have been kind of resting and regrouping and reading and writing since. The 4 r’s.

Got some nice shows coming up. I’m playing tomorrow night and friday (nov. 24th and 25th) at St Pancras Old Church with the lovely Ólöf Arnalds. I can’t wait. I’m a huge Ólöf fan and the church is supposed to be really beautiful. Nice. Next week (dec. 2nd) I’m playing at the east London Lomography store first anniversary party. It’s free and there will be free booze so it’s a win win. Then on dec. 7th I’ll be opening for Brian Borcherdt (of Holy Fuck) at the Old Blue Last in Shoreditch. That will be very cool as well. So. Everything is peachy.

Things to come

I’ve got lots of other nice things brewing. A new video for “Mockingbird” will be ready in december. A solo tour of Poland feb. 27th – mar. 10th. Then I’m going to Canada with Gummi & Silla to play at the Canadian Music Week in Toronto and do a few shows in Ontario in late march. Then there is a big european tour with Gummi & Silla in april. More info on all this later.
